the picture frame

the materials:

carton
watercolor
paintbrushes
cutter & scissors

our practical arts teacher instructed us to make a picture frame out of a carton box. we didn't need the whole box, just the wavy part of it. you know, the wavy part sandwiched between the outside and inside covering of a box. i had a hard time at first, taking--and even scraping off the coverings with a cutter. i got cuts on my fingers several times. sigh, good thing we didn't need the wavy part for the back of our frame. i painted my soon-to-be frame white, first and cut rectangle in the middle of the wavy part(for the photo). then, when it was dry i painted it again this time in different colors. i painted in a circular motion to create a modern effect. after the messy part, i decorated it with tiny plastic stars and butterflies. it wasn't perfect, but it is the effort that counts! my frame looked good with a photo that was taken with my mom, when i was little.

this handicraft taught me that i should be creative and wise. it also taught me that i could be practical in doing works of art. now i know, it just needs a little creativity, wisdom &a little oomph to make a pretty handicraft.

that someone

I've been searching for him for so long,
and I think I found that someone,
so I think it's right to give him this song
with my heart, I've composed; I've done

Thoughts of you linger in my mind,
your face and eyes, your lips--I'd love to kiss.
I can't lose you now, you're too hard to find,
your presence, no, I don't want to miss.

I hope you're heart beats the same rhythm as mine,
that you and I'll be together as one,
I know, together we can stand tests of time!
I love you, my only one!

And now, this tune plays in my head,
my imagination carries me again
to a place, I was lead.
And here, finally, we're more than just friends.

a happy home

I thank the Lord for giving me
a lovely family tree
unconventional, at times, imperfect too
but they love and support me in things I do

I thank the Lord for granting me
a family that aids me to see,
through my darkest hour
and helps me, when everything turns sour

A happy home, the best gift from above,
filled with happiness, care and love
we share the joy and pain each feels
that's it, tender family love, it seals!

a stranger to my eyes

I look in the mirror and I see a youth
Her beauty conceals a secret,
Her eyes reveals a truth.
She muses deep in her thoughts,
I knew then she was a dreamer
and of fairytales and fantasies, she's a believer.
She creates with passion and determination,
her goal is clearly perfection
I ponder she's an artist, truly original.
She clamours and tedious, she could never be
dull or boring, she's none of that, you see?
Indeed, she's a fun and loud one!
She's daring and bold,
that is what I'm told.
She's an adventurer, out to take on the world.
Gentle and sweet, one that would sweep you off your feet.
She's a lover of love and to a young man,
she is a chic romantic.
But, she's deeply lost
She's searching for her purpose in this life,
and she's willing to find it, at all cost.
I turned away from the mirror, in surprise
It appealed to me, that it was I
a stranger to my own eyes.
